Sometimes, even the most talked-about films slip through the cracks, so let’s start with some heavy hitters. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer (2023) explored the creation of the atomic bomb in an intense, thought-provoking biopic, while Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023) surprised everyone with its hilarious and heartfelt exploration of identity and gender roles.
