As the weather begins to shift from warm summer days to the cool, crisp air of autumn, it feels like the perfect time to dive into some weather-themed movies! This week's movie challenge is simple: pick a film where the weather plays a significant role in the story or even just has a weather reference in the title

If you're looking for something intense, The Perfect Storm (2000) is a gripping choice. Based on a true story, it follows a fishing crew caught in a deadly convergence of storms. Or if disaster movies are more your style, the recent Twisters (2024) gives you a front-row seat to some jaw-dropping tornado action. For something a bit more thoughtful, check out Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm (1997), which uses a literal ice storm as a backdrop to a family in crisis.

On the lighter side, if you’re not in the mood for chaos and destruction, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) is a fun, animated option where the weather plays a quirky role in an entirely different way.
