Dual identities
This week we're exploring the fascinating world of dual identities in movies, and how characters juggle different lives whether through their own making or not.
There are multiple subgenres of dual identity movies:
The Body Swap - A classic story of characters switching places/bodies with each other, or a character suddenly finding themselves in a different body
Twins and Doppelgangers - Whether it's twins separated at birth, switching places for fun/benefit or mysterious doppelgangers putting people on edge there are a host of interesting movies here.
Double Lives - An interesting concept, often focusing around spies, is the idea of a character living double lives. Whether doing it for 'innocent' or frightening reasons, it paves the way for some fascinating movies.
Multiple Personalities/Mistaken Identities - Multiple personalaties is often a tricky subject to portray in movies sensitively. Whereas mistaken identities can often lead to tense scenes as a characters life unravels before them.
